I am from California so I wasn't quit prepared for this kind of weather. I was expecting the worse from what they were saying on the news so I was pretty freaked out. We stocked up on water and food that didn't need to be refrigerated but, boy did we have a reality check. I didn't realize how depended we are on electricity until this moment. Around 6:00 pm we had just sat down to have dinner when the power went out. The kids started to freak out a little but thankfully Jay had all the flashlights ready to go. We finished dinner and headed down to the basement to try and entertain the kids. They jumped on the trampoline and watched a movie on the iPad. I wanted to sleep downstairs because the wind and rain were so bad I thought my windows were going to coming crashing down. I also thought it would be fun for a little family camp out until the kids started getting over tired crazy and it turned into a nightmare. To add to everything else Brady was still feeding 2-3 times during the night so doing that and changing diapers with a flashlight was super fun. In the morning we still hadn't gotten our power back so our neighbors let us put our food in their refrigerator. They were able to barrow a generator and we were so thankful to not lose all our food. We spent the rest of the day bundled up praying for the power to come back on. It was so cold in the house I started to realize how much we depend on electricity. We couldn't turn the heater or the fireplace on. We couldn't pop food in the microwave real quick or turn the tv on to check the news. I was thinking about how they survived back in the day with hardly anything at all. I feel so lucky to live in a time where we have everything we could possibly need. I also feel fortunate that we only had minor damage to the house. I am so sad for all those families that lost everything in this horrible hurricane.

My little mummy
I can't believe how fast the time goes these days. Brady is getting so big so fast I wish I could freeze time. Here he is already 9 days old.
Trunk or Treat night at the church
We invited our neighbors to come with us to Trunk or Treat and we had a great time. The kids played fun games and won prizes and got lots of candy. The guys enjoyed 3 rounds of yummy chili.

Bike ride with daddy
Jay takes Addison out for bike rides all the time and she loves it! He took her over to a local pumpkin patch and she got to exploring around and see all the different pumpkins. The best part was there was nobody else there so they had it all to themselves.
Halloween fun!
Talen and I like to work on fun projects while everyone else is napping. This time we made a fun skeleton out of Q-tips.
Great job buddy!
Cox's Farms
Talen's class went on a field trip to a really cool pumpkin patch. They had so many fun slides and activities for the kids to do, we will definitely go back next year.
Big helpers
Addison is such a good helper with her baby brother. She is so gentle with him and likes to help feed and burp him. She will put his pacifier in if he starts crying and rocks his carseat. She will walk around with her baby doll and copy everything I do it's so cute!
Talen has been sharing all his favorite things like his special blanket and Knuffle bunny with his baby brother.
Trying to get a family picture will never be the same...lol!
