Memorial weekend in Yosemite

We went to Yosemite for Memorial Day weekend to be with my Father-in-laws family. I thought we would never make it there but it was all worth it for this view.

I was 26 weeks pregnant and made it to the bridge of Vernal Falls. I was happy to know that it was all down hill from there. I ended up having to carry Talen all the way back down because it was nap time and Daddy continued up to the top. I don't know where I got the energy to do it but I guess thats what moms do.

This kid loves to be outside no matter what time of day it is. He loved being up in the mountains and throwing rocks and playing in the dirt.

Happy Birthday Alison

July 18th has two different places in my heart, one is the day I met my husband and the other is the day I lost my best friend. It was a long time ago but not a (single day) goes by that I don't wish she was still here with me. We were supposed to go to our first church dance together, have our first boyfriends together, be each other's Maid of Honor, and most importantly raise our children together. Today I wanted to take Talen out to meet her for the first time and what a better day then her birthday. He said in the car the whole way there, "we go see Alison". When we got there he said, "Alison where are you"? I took him over to meet her and he immediately got down on his knees to touch her headstone. He slowly ran his hand across her name as if she was right there. He gave her a kiss and told her, "Love you". As we were driving away in the car he said, "Mommy we come back to see Alison"?

Dying eggs

So this was Talen's first year getting to dye eggs.  He did pretty good until he gave up on the little wire dipper thing.  He had green and blue hands for a day or two but boy did he have fun.  

Whoops!!!!!!!  Sorry mom did I get you wet? 

Happy Easter!

We spent Easter this year with Jay's family.  Talen got way to much candy it gave me a belly ache just looking at it.  He had so much fun finding all the easter eggs and putting them in his basket.  He didn't quite get it at first because when he found one he wanted to open it and sit there and eat all the candy and then move on to the next one.  We finally got him to find all the eggs and then sit down and see what he got.

He wanted all the candy but gave all the dollar bills back...lol!

Talen learned real fast how to get those starburst open.
